Barrabus, Pt. 01 - Breaching the Iron Palisade
A fallen wooden paintbrush lay wedged beneath the heavy cast-iron radiator fins, blocking the passage like a fallen siege timber. I advanced without hesitation. Bracing my sandals against the rough skirting board, I gripped the lacquered wooden handle with both hands and levered backward with all my might. The stiff natural bristles scraped harshly against the dusty floorboards, resisting my pull. I dug my heels into the grain and gave a final, ferocious heave. The timber tore free with a sharp clatter. I propped it securely across the radiator valves as a barricade. The hallway flank is fortified. (Honestly I'm not sure why my barbarian leader is doing this, but I thought it was humorous enough to post!ππ ππ€£)!
