Perimeter Alignment
The clear track permitted swift egress onto the balcony tiles. Moving silently to the far corner where iron meets stone, I found a small brass carabiner dangling from an empty wall anchor, its gate half-open and pinned by a dried tendril. Crouching low, I braced my boot against the textured concrete lip. With gloved precision, I stripped the brittle stem clear and levered the spring arm inward until it snapped cleanly into its locked recess with a sharp, muted click. A deliberate tilt of my visor confirmed the anchor point was solid once more.
