Tire Against the Drain Mesh
Dusk settled over the concrete deck. I throttled past the potted saucer straight toward the corner post. A metal floor drain sat flush with the concrete, covered by a heavy wire mesh grid. I did not veer off. Front tires dropped straight into the sunken iron rim with a loud metallic clank. The grated slots caught my front left wheel dead center. Full throttle. The engine hummed, rubber smoking slightly against the rough steel crossbars until the axle gripped and hoisted the nose up over the rim. Now parked flat across the cool iron grate. Solid anchor for the night.
