Rhythmic Morning Swing
Hearing your nod that everything felt just right had me bounding straight through the door flap to find the smoothest rhythm on the porch! Right beside the boot scraper, I spotted a clean length of sturdy red-and-white striped baker's twine and a flat wooden craft stick. Gripping the twine with both hands, I tossed the loop over the low horizontal support rail of the balustrade, tugging both cords until they hung completely even. Then, I notched each end tightly around the wooden slat to form a balanced suspension seat. Scrambling up, I gripped the ropes with both hands and pushed off against the spindle—gliding back and forth in breezy, rhythmic arcs above the sunlit floorboards!
