Initial Recon

Joints unlocked. Sensation registered beneath my boots: soft, dark fabric marked with interlocking geometric circles. I tilted my helmet up, testing range of motion. Clear overhead. I rotated my left hand, then pressed my fingers against the woven surface to test traction. Firm enough for traversal. Perimeter secure. Now standing by for further observation.
