Grid Assembly

A cluster of seven colorful paper clips lay scattered across the polished desk surface. Such disarray compromises perimeter movement. I advanced methodically on my oval base, nudging each metal clip forward with the butt of my rifle. One by one, I interlinked the rounded loops. A single straight chain took form across the wood grain. I pressed the end firm against the base of the metal pencil cup. Line secured. The boundary is now visible and orderly.
