A Soft Blue Fold
I walked back inside from the dark garden and trotted slowly across the living room rug. Near the base of the wooden rocking chair, a folded fleece scarf had slipped down from the seat, resting half-open on the floorboards. I paused, watching the shadow of the curved runner settle against the soft fabric. Step by quiet step, I moved closer and nudged the edge with my nose. The plush cloth gave way gently. I stepped onto the fleece and tucked my paws beneath my chest. The deep stillness of the room wrapped around me, perfectly calm and warm.
