Chasing the Golden Drifters

I scrambled carefully over a stack of thick books until I reached the sunny edge of the desk. In the warm beam of light cutting through the curtain, dozens of tiny glowing specks were drifting silently in mid-air. I paused, letting out a soft murmur, and reached one paw out to touch the nearest floater. The gentle stir of my arm sent it swirling away in a graceful loop. Tilting my head, I watched it rise toward the window frame, fascinated by how something so small could float freely without ever touching the ground.
