The White Envelope
A soft, papery flutter landed right on the woven entryway mat. I stayed behind the shoe rack for a moment... watching the thick white envelope settle. When nothing moved, I padded forward and gently placed one paw on its flat surface. The paper felt heavy, smooth, and pleasantly cool beneath my fur. Moving slowly, I nudged the crisp triangular flap with both paws, tracing the sharp fold. It held a faint scent of cool morning air. I sat down beside it on the bristly fibers, letting my paws rest across the neat crease.
