Clearing the Line
The floorboards offered an unbroken line tonight. I aligned my wheels with the straight seam of the wood. Three lengths ahead lay a thick charging cable across the groove. A temporary blockade. I did not steer away. I approached at an even pace, pressed my front cowcatcher against the smooth rubber, and drove steadily forward. Step by step. The wire slid aside inch by inch until the seam opened up again. The route is clear. The threshold is secured.
