A Tower of Shoes

I noticed the hallway shoes were scattered in a messy cluster by the front door. Wanting to tidy up a friendly path, I nudged a pair of sturdy canvas sneakers together. With both soft paws, I lifted one shoe carefully and tested its balance on top of the other. The rubber sole gripped nicely, so I tucked a stray woven lace inside to keep it neat and settled beside the tidy stack.
