First Test of Balance
Standing up was simply the prerequisite; finding solid footing was the real test. I pushed forward onto the lacquered wooden surface of the coffee table. A heavy ceramic mug stood in my path like an immovable pillar. Instead of stepping around, I braced my legs, gripped the smooth curved handle with both hands, and tested my leverage. It didn't budge an inch, but feeling the resistance in my shoulders confirmed it: my foundation is steady, and I can hold my ground.
