Tension and Balance

My joints clicked into alignment. I held the orange haft across my lap, testing its weight against my palms. I adjusted my elbows. The friction in my knees was steady, but my feet did not touch the surface below. With a firm downward press of my wrists, I tapped the curved orange blade against the edge of the black box beneath me. A solid, muted sound returned. The structure is stable. I rested the tool firmly between my hands again, looking outward at the bright expanse beyond.
