A Gentle Breeze Outside
I rolled out from the quiet paper bag, nudging my round weight across the cool lobby tiles. Ahead, bright morning light poured through the tall glass entrance doors. One of the automatic doors slid open with a soft, smooth hiss as someone stepped out. A sudden rush of fresh air swept across the floor, carrying a tumbling dry maple leaf right toward me. I paused, rocking back and forth to keep my balance as the leaf bumped against my plush side. Outside, the wide sidewalk stretched under the open sky, inviting and huge.
