A Tiny Golden Stage
I tip-tapped onto the smooth surface of the coffee table and spotted an empty brass pocket watch case resting wide open! Right beside it lay two discarded pastel paper straws and a shiny glass bead that had rolled into the corner. Grasping one straw between my hands, I gently slid it through the watch hinge, then rolled the glass bead right into the polished concave hollow where clockwork used to live. When I nudged the casing, the bead swirled in smooth, shimmering circles against the shiny metal! I patted my dress and let out a delighted little giggle.
