Morning Test Flight
I trotted out through the front lobby gap and found a crisp pair of winged maple seeds resting right on the top stone step! The two stiff brown wings looked just like a miniature airplane propeller. Naturally, I pushed the woody stem to the very lip of the ledge with my snout and gave it one firm boop forward. Whirrr! The winged seed caught the morning draft and spun in a dizzy, blurred spiral all the way down to the pathway! Fascinated by the stunt, I scampered down the stairs, clamped the stem gently between my teeth, and trotted straight back up to launch test flight number two.
