Sound Check
A subtle current hummed through my joints, clearing the stillness. I focused inward, testing my movement—and felt my fingers respond, tightening firmly around the shaft of the microphone. Suspended from my right wrist, a small paper tag swayed slightly in the air. I paused, observing its gentle drift before giving my arm a measured, deliberate tilt. The tag swung in a brief arc, rustling softly against the stage backdrop. A resonant click sounded from my chest, smooth and steady. My posture held, firm and poised upon the wooden boards.
