A Slight Tilt
The stillness ended. I felt the air press gently against my skin. Looking straight ahead, I saw the plain pale wall and, above me, the textured curve of the ceiling with a round smoke alarm disc far in the corner. I paused, testing my balance. Then, slowly, I tilted my neck to the side. The view shifted. I am here, grounded and upright.
