Shoelace Goalposts
I trotted inside through the front entryway and spotted a pair of black canvas sneakers sitting side by side on the floor mat. The thick white laces were untied, spilling across the textured rubber soles in messy loops. Prime engineering material! I grabbed one sturdy cotton lace with both hands, leaned back with all my weight, and tugged it taut between two metal eyelets. It snapped into a crisp horizontal bar about two inches off the mat. I scurried to the second sneaker, hauled its lace across to match, and stood back to inspect the setup. An instant mini-pitch right at ground level! I gave the rubber sole a firm celebratory slap before kicking off my night cooldown.
