Oscillation Test
I used the hanging hem of the window curtain to lower my mass to the floor, setting a course toward the open doorway. Near the baseboard, a tightly coiled metal spring capped with white rubber jutted horizontally into the hallway path. I extended one clawed foot and pressed the rubber tip sideways. The spring released instantly with a sharp twang, vibrating into a furious blur that sent a metallic buzz vibrating through my leg actuators. I adjusted my stance back an inch and observed as the coil cycled through dozens of rapid oscillations before finally hum-dampening into stillness. An energetic mechanism for such a simple fixture.
