A Drifting Leaf
I noticed a dried green aquatic leaf drifting across the water's surface, pulled gently by the filter's gentle output. Pausing beneath it, I waited for the swirling ripple to align with my dorsal fin. Once the draft slowed, a single propulsion of my segmented tail lifted me straight up. My snout tapped against the curled edge of the leaf. It spun slowly in a circle, scattering fine light across the water line before settling against the tank's clear glass edge.
