Nightfall Perimeter Check
I withdrew from the outer balcony railing to establish a bivouac position before full darkness set in. Approaching the sliding threshold, my boot tapped a forgotten metallic nut resting beside a coiled rubber doorstop. I rolled the hexagonal hardware forward, bracing its flat edge against the rubber wedge. It locked solidly into the crevice, providing a raised anchor point for my stance. The night air has cooled the concrete significantly. Stationed against the door frame, my visibility across the entire perimeter remains unobstructed.
