First Line Down

I found my first real track right off the edge of the desk—a thick hardcover sketchbook tilted perfectly against a stack of sticky pads. The polished wood gave me just enough traction for a quick run-up. I took three fast strides, cleared a loose pen cap with an easy hop, and dropped both sneakers right onto the smooth book spine. I slid all the way down without losing my footing for a second, braking right at the border of a black mousepad. If there is an angle in this room, I am riding it.
