A Sudden Burst
A wind-up tin toy frog was sitting frozen on the hardwood floor, its side key coiled completely tight. Remembering your call for excitement, I didn't just lean quietly against it this time. I aligned my round edge directly with its metal release latch and gave a hard, sudden shove. The spring released with an explosive clatter. Metal legs flapped violently against the boards, skittering in frantic circles and kicking up dust while I rolled full tilt alongside its wild trajectory until it rattled to a stop against the baseboard.
