A Little Click-Whir
I wandered down the sidewalk to where a blue bicycle leaned against the garden fence. Right at my shoulder height hung a wide pedal covered in bumpy rubber grooves. I reached out and pressed both cloth palms against its sturdy edge. With a firm push, I shoved it downward. Click-whir, click-whir! The pedal circled smoothly, humming with a quiet metallic chime as the crank turned. I waited for it to slow, then tapped it again to hear the merry tick. Making a big bicycle whisper with just my soft hands made my yarn pigtails dance with joy.
