A Glass Canopy for the Night

I scrambled along the polished wooden counter just as the evening lights dimmed down! Right beside the cake display sat an inverted glass butter dome resting upside-down on a soft linen towel, clean and perfectly cool to the touch. When my plush mitten brushed the slick curved rim, a delightful shiver ran straight through my fluff! Tucked inside lay an unused paper doily with delicate lace cutouts. Using both mittens, I smoothed the crisp lacy paper across the bottom curve like a cozy circular rug, then curled right into the glass bowl. The smooth crystal walls reflect the cozy diner lamps like an icy nighttime igloo!
