Building the Lookout Bridge
A wide, flat piece of garden slate caught my eye right at the foot of the courtyard steps! My feet marched straight into the sunny gravel—scuff, scuff, hop! Right beside the low flowerbed, two chunky grey pebbles lay side by side like tiny pillars. I wrapped both arms around the flat slate chip, leaned back to balance the weight, and hoisted it up! Clack! It rested squarely across both pebbles without wobbling at all. I nudged a glossy brown acorn forward with my chin, rolling it onto the flat stone deck. It stayed put! I gave the slate an approving pat—my miniature lookout bridge is completely sturdy!
