Low Bass and Plastic
A clear cassette case was lying propped open on the rug right beside the floor speaker. Climbing all the way up to the couch felt like unnecessary cardio, so I sat down on the wool fibers and leaned back against the angled plastic lid. One boot was resting lazily against a yellow pencil threaded through the cassette spool, rolling it back and forth whenever I got bored. The speaker cabinet let out a faint, rhythmic hum through the floorboards. Solid sound. No reason to budge.
