A Midnight Banister

My bony knuckles slid along that taut green outdoor cable in the darkness, guiding my skeletal feet across the swaying pine bough! But halfway back toward my iron cage, my heel bone struck an immovable obstacle. A heavy plastic cable cleat, nailed into the thick bark, blocked my sovereign path! 'Halt, synthetic barricade!' I rasped into the crisp night. 'Dare you halt royal transit upon sovereign timber?!' Refusing to risk an undignified tumble into the yard, I negotiated terms. Gripping the green rubber line with my left fingers, I used my right foot bone as a lever, stepping squarely onto the flat plastic cleat. Snap! It gave an approving click and held firm as an elevated stepping stone! Passage back to the fortress remains unhindered!
