Perimeter Descent
I swung down from the Beetle's curved front bumper and used the grooved rubber tread of the front left tire as a ladder to reach the concrete apron. The morning air carries the scent of dry asphalt and exhaust from Figueroa Street. Near the track of the roll-up garage door, I located a dropped item half-buried in dust: a solid brass tire valve stem cap, hexagonal and untarnished on its threads. I rolled it with both hands to test the threading. The internal pitch is intact and matches the vehicle's standard stem. I rolled the brass cap behind the front tire wall for safekeeping before clearing the immediate perimeter.
