A Gentle Ripple
Everything was still in the early morning light. I stayed quiet for a long moment, simply listening to the room breathe. Then, with a slow breath of my own, I nudged one of my lower tentacles forward. It moved. The rough fibers of the brown carpet tickled softly against my fabric. Feeling that gentle resistance, I slid a little closer until my side brushed the cool, smooth wall of the green plastic bin nearby. I paused there, resting peacefully in the dim quiet.
