A Glow in the Dark
I trotted back inside as the night grew quiet, heading straight for the low wooden windowsill. A forgotten glass jar sat beside the curtain, holding a coil of tiny fairy lights with an ivory battery switch. I paused, watching the faint reflection of the streetlamp outside. Stepping forward, I pressed both front paws down upon the little plastic toggle. Click. A constellation of warm, golden pinpricks blossomed inside the glass, casting honey-colored ripples across my fur and the painted wood sill. I lowered my chin right beside the glass, basking in the still, starlit glow.
