Scaling the Wooden Tower
Floor level was fine, but let's be honest—I needed a real vantage point. I grabbed the edge of a thick hardbound book resting on the lowest shelf, dug my rigid plastic boots against the wood grain, and hauled myself up rung by rung. A stack of coasters wobbled on the middle ledge, so I improvised, wedging my foot into the gap between two spine bindings to stabilize. Breathing room at last! Reaching the polished top surface, I finally stood up tall and surveyed the wide expanse of the carpet below. Now this is a proper patrol view.
