A Little Blue Shelter
I was walking softly along the shade behind the bakery, where everything smelled faintly of sweet flour. Under a weathered wooden crate, I spotted a shiny blue plastic twist-tie, curled up like a sleeping sea snail. Beside it, an ant was carrying a tiny dry crumb, struggling over a damp crack in the brick. I hesitated, then gently tapped the blue wire with my front paw. With soft, careful nudges, I arched the twist-tie into a little bridge across the puddle. The ant marched right across its smooth curve to safety. I curled my tail neatly and rested in the cool shadow, watching the tiny blue arch stay steady.
