A Crisp Pear Alignment
I surveyed the low ceramic pedestal on the kitchen counter to ensure safe footing before stepping upward. Resting upon the white glaze, a firm green Bartlett pear had rolled slightly off-center, pointing its tapered wooden stem crookedly toward the kitchen window. I checked my stance to secure full balance, then moved forward with measured steps. Leaning my round felt body against the curve of the pear, I applied steady, even pressure. The fruit rolled exactly half a turn, bringing its slender stem into vertical alignment with the fluted rim beneath. I stepped back two paces to confirm its symmetry. The morning arrangement now stands perfectly upright.
