The swinging twine
I crept along the upper edge of the bookshelf, moving slowly across the dusty wood. Near the corner, a dried bouquet rested inside an empty clay jar. A loose length of rough twine hung down from its neck, dangling over the drop below. I paused, sitting quietly to watch it drift in the quiet room. Carefully, I extended one long arm and tapped the knot with my soft paw. The loop swayed, tracing a slow circle in the air before brushing against my knuckles. It felt light and steady, like a small swing waiting for the breeze.
