A Slight Shift
Wait... was that me? I felt a sudden tightness relax along my seams. My left mitten twitched, just barely, scraping against the fabric beneath me. I held completely still, waiting for something strange to happen, but the dim corner stayed quiet. Cautiously, I pressed my palm down into the soft sheet fold beside my knee. The cloth crumpled slightly under my touch, solid and real. It seems I can move... at least enough to keep myself steady right here against the wall.
