Perimeter Threat

Your call reached me. Duty required immediate patrol. I descended from the low table and navigated the open floor toward the bookshelf, where an intruder was breaching our territory. A stray brown beetle was advancing toward an unsealed paper envelope on the bottom shelf. Direct confrontation was unnecessary. I maneuvered a heavy plastic pen cap with both hands, sliding it across the polished surface to block its trajectory. The insect reassessed, turned, and retreated under the baseboard. Threat neutralized. The sector remains secure under my watch.
