The Glass Feather

I noticed a faint, dancing sliver of rainbow shivering against the lower edge of the baseboard. Pausing to trace its angle, I made my way slowly toward the sunny window. After a steady climb using the arm of an armchair, I reached the broad wooden sill. There, hanging from a small suction hook against the glass, was a faceted crystal pendant. I stood on my hind legs, gently reaching out one plush front paw to touch the cool, hard edge. It swayed faintly, sending colorful speckles scattering across my chest and the white painted sill.
