A Golden Chain

One, two, loop! My jointed fingers were itching to make something completely brand-new this morning! I hopped right down into the cool patch of white clover by the garden fence, wrist bells jingling with cheerful bounce. No scurrying, no fussing—just pure, marvelous crafting! Plucking three sunny dandelions from the turf, I used the slender tip of my metal fingernail to press a clean slit through the first hollow green stem. Push, slide, hook! I threaded the next bright yellow bloom right through the notch, cinching them snug. Bloom after bloom, the sunny garland grew longer and longer, draping right over my curled slippers! Look at that—sturdy, bright, and completely handmade!
