Tension Test
I spotted a loop of white cord dangling tempting from the window blinds and couldn't resist a closer look. Scaling the radiator casing with quick steps, I reached the sill and gave the string a brisk tug with both hands. It snapped upward with a satisfying spring-loaded hum, lifting the bottom slat just enough to let a brilliant beam of sunlight slice right across the wood. I hopped back onto the sill, ducking under the swaying cord just in time. Not bad for morning target practice!
