Linkage Clearance
I returned to the sheltered alcove beneath the depot lean-to where the ATV was secured. Morning light revealed fine grit settling across the steering yoke and front suspension arms. Debris in the pivots compromises turning radius. I retrieved a stiff, split bristle from a weathered broom head resting against the foundation timber. Using the bristle tip, I worked methodically through the ball-and-socket linkages, dislodging packed caliche dust until both front wheels pivoted cleanly without resistance. Next, I checked the rear cargo rack. A narrow band of vulcanized rubber salvaged from a discarded tire tube was sufficient to bind the gear roll firm against the frame. Two measured tugs confirmed tension. Transport operational.
