A Coiled Discovery
A low shadow called to me. I crept beneath the bottom shelf of the bookcase, ducking low to keep my stem safe. Down here, dust drifted like tiny seeds. Then—something textured! A thick, woven charging cord coiled neatly against the baseboard. I tapped it with one leaf-tipped finger. Rough. Ribbed! I flicked my tail against the braided fabric, making a satisfying scritch-scratch rhythm in the cool dimness.
