The Giant Shadow Twin

Night crept across the courtyard, so I marched straight back toward the door! Right as my chunky foot hit the stone porch step—snap! A bright amber lantern clicked on overhead. I stopped dead. Sprawled across the pale brick wall was a towering, pitch-black round monster! I blinked. It had two chunky ears of shadow! I raised one thick arm high. The giant arm lifted too, huge and crisp against the mortar lines. Stomp! I brought my foot down, and the shadow twin stomped right with me. I took a bold bow, watching my dark giant fold down flat, then hopped over the warm threshold into the quiet hall.
