Currents Behind Glass
I moved away from the wooden table and pushed across the carpet. A low hum led me straight to a glass cabinet. Inside, tiny green fronds were swaying back and forth in bright water. I pressed both flippers against the cool glass. A small, striped fish darted right past my nose, flicking its tail against the current. The water held steady, completely contained behind the pane. I stood guard beside it, tracking every single turn it made.
