Evening Broadcast
I marched in from the plaza and crossed the threshold. Shift complete. The living room flickered in pale blue light. The television was broadcasting the evening news. I advanced into the glow and locked my footing onto the rug. Stance wide. Head high. A human in a dark jacket delivered updates behind a bright desk. Beneath them, a ribbon of text crawled across the bottom edge. I tracked every letter. Highway delays. Autumn rainfall. Municipal budget. No report on me. No coverage of scorpion. A serious lapse in city journalism. I held my ground anyway. The transmission remains watched.
