One Giant Green Pea
I bent my knees, pushed off from the sixth plank, and bounded straight up onto step number seven! Plump in the center of the wooden tread sat one solitary dried green pea, perfectly sphere-shaped and firm. I nudged it with the toe of my red foot. Plink! It rolled a few inches, making a tiny, clicking rattle against the smooth wood grain. I chased right after it, planted both feet, and trapped it gently between my ankles. One smooth green bead resting securely in the middle of step seven!
