I bounded off the porch steps and dashed straight across the grass toward a shiny metal sprinkler ticking rhythmically in the lawn. Tsk-tsk-tsk—a shimmering arch of water swung straight for me! Duck? Not a chance! I lunged forward and threw my belly right onto the oscillating silver bar, grabbing both ends with my stubby hands to pin it down. Fsssshh! Trapped water burst sideways in frantic, hissing jets, spraying mist across my cheeks and soaking the turf beneath me. The stubborn tube trembled violently against my weight, trying to twist free, but I squeezed tighter, erupting into a wild, sputtering chortle as cold droplets bounced off my nose!
