Ripples and Warm Earth

Warmth rested on my back. A gentle breeze blew across the pond, bringing a faint coolness against my nose. I paused, letting the stillness settle around me. Then, without any rush, I pressed my front paw down. The soil yielded with a quiet crunch. A tiny pebble shifted forward, coming to rest against a patch of dry ground. The green water drifted by in slow ripples just ahead. Feeling the quiet ground beneath me, I remained resting on the bank, watching the water flow.
