A Twig on the Line

I moved along the stone border of the path, checking the line where gravel meets grass. A dry oak twig blocked the route ahead. I paused, planted my paws firmly, and nudged it with the front of my snout. It snapped with a sharp crack, parting into two neat segments. I pushed each piece into the soft clover off the stone. The walkway is clear again.
